The sports car that points to Hyundai's future

Meet the future of Hyundai.

For the Seoul Motor Show, Hyundai is unveiling a prototype with elements likely to be incorporated into the next Genesis coupe.

From the looks it, it's quite a departure from the Genesis couple out there now. This one is long, low and sleek. The upward-swinging doors are Lamborghini-like, but we doubt we'll see them on the production version. Hyundai isn't giving any hints, including whether this one is destined for the production line.

It's being called the HND-9, a luxury sports coupe concept. It comes from the research center in Namyang, South Korea.

As a prototype -- and we suspect, as a subsequent production model -- it's powered by a 370-horsepower 3.3-liter turbo gas direct-injection engine and eight-speed auto transmission.

For now, though, Hyundai isn't saying a lot more about it.
